Celeste was born December 7, 1942, in Fort Benton, Montana, to Joseph and Rose (Dickman) Diekhans. She was the fourth of six children raised at the ranch near Shonkin, Montana. She attended school at the one-room school house in Shonkin followed by St Gerard's and then Central Catholic High School in Great Falls, Montana. Celeste went to Carroll College, in Helena, Montana, and the College of Great Falls; she graduated in 1964 with her Bachelor's in Education. She was introduced to Harold H. Goldhahn, Jr. by a family member and they were married June 27, 1964, in Fort Benton at the original Immaculate Conception Church.  The couple made their home on the Goldhahn farm near Montague, Montana, where they raised five children, Mike, Emily, Mark, Anna, and Rose.

Celeste loved the outdoors, the Highwood mountains, horseback riding and helping on the family ranch when she was growing up, walking in the country, cooking, baking, and painting the beautiful local landscapes.

Celeste was compassionate, considerate, kind, giving, and genuine. A talented cook and baker, she made baked goods everyone looked forward to eating, especially butterhorns and pies. She used her varied talents for many organizations such as Farmers Union camps and 4-H as a local leader and on the 4-H Council. She was very active in the Council of Catholic Women at St Margaret's and Immaculate Conception Churches and was a Weight Watcher's leader for Fort Benton, Big Sandy, Chester, and Havre for over 20 years.

Celeste is survived by her husband Harold Goldhahn, Jr. of Fort Benton; her five children Mike (Penny) and their children John and Erika of Montague; Emily Goldhahn (Kevin Calandri) of West Sacramento, CA; Mark (Monica) and their children Blaze, Zane, Izaac, and Ezra of South Havre; Anna Goldhahn and her children Miriam and Lydia Knutson of Cincinnati, OH; and Rose Goldhahn (Geoff Blanchard) of Fort Benton. She is also survived by her siblings, Father Joseph Diekhans of Missoula, Rosita Moe of Fort Benton, John Diekhans of Fort Benton, and Bernard (Wanda) Diekhans of Fort Benton.
