Obituary

Deborah Lynn Taylor, 61, passed away Friday, October 1, 2021, in Arizona from complications after a stroke. Her graveside service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2022, at the Riverside Cemetery with Pastor Kit Miller officiating. A fellowship luncheon will be held at the First Christian Church immediately after the graveside service. Debbie was born May 21, 1960, in Great Falls, Montana to W. Howard and Florence (Richard) Taylor. She was raised on the family farm North of Geraldine. She attended kindergarten at Eagle Butte country school and her first-grade year at Elim country school. She transferred to Geraldine Public school to complete her education where she graduated with honors in 1978. In High School Debbie played basketball, was a member of the Band and Pep Band where she played the Alto and Soprano Saxophones. She was an excellent cook and spent a lot of time canning with her mother. Her greatest enjoyment was when she could relax in her room, listening to music.  She was also an avid fisherman.  Every spare moment she would be fishing.  Debbie was a church camp counselor at the C-N and taught Vacation Bible School.

Debbie continued her education at Western Montana College where she lettered in volleyball. She was a member of "Spurs" and graduated with honors in 1982 with her Business Major and with Minors in Physical Education and Coaching. She accepted a teaching position at Jefferson High School in Boulder, Montana where she taught Business and Computers along with coaching girls' volleyball, basketball, and track. While teaching she also went back to school to obtain her Master's in Computer Science and Repair. She left Boulder in 2009 and moved to Arizona where she taught school in various towns in Arizona and Nevada. She retired from teaching in 2016 due to health reasons.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, W Howard Taylor and Florence (Richard) Taylor.

She is survived by her brothers, Brian Taylor and nephews: Logan and Landon Taylor, Brad (Lisa) Taylor and nephew Joey and niece Sloan (Jake) Evans;  great-niece, Emilia "Millie"; aunt, Betty Taylor; and numerous cousins, extended family, and friends.
