Earl Edgar
Duvall Jr.
February 9, 1937 – July 31, 2016
Earl Edgar Duvall Jr. of Geraldine passed away peacefully on Sunday July 31, 2016 at Renaissance Senior Care in Helena from a long battle with Alzheimers.
Born on February 9, 1937 in Shonkin, MT to Sylvia and Earl Duvall Sr, Earl grew up in the Geraldine area and graduated from Geraldine High School in 1955. He attended MSU and married his soulmate Kay Knudson in 1957. They worked on farms in Mantague, Cascade and Helena prior to settling back home to farming/ranching as the Duvall Brothers with Len in Geraldine. Here they raised two children, Bryan and Shari.
Earl was a very hard worker all of his life. Even as Alzheimer's took control, he stayed focused on helping as much as he could on the farm and ranch. Earl loved his river trips, traveling, and his favorite spot Swan Lake. He loved all sporting events and didn't miss many. He especially loved going to is grandchildren's games, and cheering them along. Of course he would get mad at the coaches when they took his grandchild out of the game, the referees were never any good, and concession hamburgers were his favorite if there was no Taco Treat, McDonald's or Rusty's nearby!
Earl was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Sylvia Duvall, his sister Betty McManaman, and his loving wife Kay Knudson Duvall.
He is survived by his children Bryan (Jodi) Duvall of Geraldine, Shari (Frank) Little of Townsend; grandchildren, Aaron Little, Lindsey Little, Brett Duvall, Tayler Duvall, Korbin Duvall, and Brady Duvall; brothers, Lennie (Kay) Duvall of Geraldine and Joe (Nita) Duvall of Great Falls; sister, Earlene Duvall of Lewistown; travel partner, Jean Spurgeon of Great Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Earl's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at Renaissance Senior Care in Helena and Rocky Mountain Hospice. And, thank you to the community of Geraldine for all the love and support to Earl over the past few years as well.
Earl's family has requested that memorial donations be made in his name to the charity of the donor's choice.
