Obituary

Gwendolyn Diane (Bowen) Bach, 72 years old, of Fort Benton, Montana passed away Friday, September 15, 2017 due to natural causes. Benton Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. Please visit Diane's online memorial page at www.bentonfh.com to leave a message of condolence for her family.

Diane was born in Athens, Georgia on June 15, 1945 to Buford and Nanny Sue Bowen. She married Thomas L. Bach of Fort Benton, Mt on May 25, 1962. Yes, we know, he robbed the cradle – she was only 16. They had to go to South Carolina to get married. It must have been the right thing to do because they were together for over 55 years.

Diane drove school bus for the Fort Benton School District for 23 years. Diane loved to read. Anything she could get her hands on. When her kids were little, she enjoyed going camping with them. She liked to Crochet, but she would be the first to tell you, she wasn't any good at it. Diane also liked to cook. But she didn't like the planning or the clean-up.

Diane is preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, Little B.C., four sisters, and one brother.

Diane is survived by her husband Tom; three children, Bobbie, Trinity, and Vance Bach; daughter-in-law Alicia; grandchildren Kaden and Hanna Bach; and sister Janice Wages of Monroe, GA; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws that are all over the country; and many "adopted" friends and family.

Diane never wanted a funeral or memorial service. She always told the family that she wanted a party. So that being said, there will be a Celebration of Life Party for Diane at the Club House on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. There will be food provided with a no-host bar. All are welcome.   Per Diane's request, please don't wear black. Bring your memories of her and share them. Diane loved a good laugh, even when it was at her own expense. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Diane's name to your favorite charity or bring a plant to the Party.
