Harold, was born the 4 th of 10 children to Gilman and Hattie Winden in Northwood, ND. He graduated from High School, at Alexandar, ND and from there served 2 years the Navy.  Harold married Bernadine Selinger October 24 th 1949 and together they were blessed with 5 children.  Harold was known as "Windy" by many. If you had time to listen, he had a story to tell. He brought his young family on many camping and fishing trips to Yellowstone and Glacier Park. Harold spent the majority of his working years as a grain buyer and grain elevator manager. Harold and his family moved often as "Windy" stepped up the ladder as a manager. Gardening, golfing and flying his Cessna airplane were his main hobbies.  Harold was proud of his Norwegian heritage and eagerly awaited the lefse and lutefisk dinners.  He was a major fan watching the local school sporting events especially when his grandchildren played.  Harold's grandchildren and great grandchildren were special to him. The grandchildren were surprised each time he would slip them a $20 bill from his pocket. Harold and Bernie put roots down in Fort Benton where they lived for the last 43 years together. When they needed more assistance, they moved to the Sunrise Bluffs in Fort Benton and later moved to Highgate Senior Living in Great Falls in 2015.

He is survived by his children: Brenda Morris, Barbara Buck, Jackie (Lynn) Goldhahn, Jerry (Robyn) Winden,  8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He is survived by sister, Helen Kush and brothers David and Rick Winden.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents; Gilman and Hattie Winden, his wife Bernie, son Brian, granddaughter Kelsey Morris, his sisters; Edith and Ethel, and brothers; John, Roy, Arthur, and Lloyd.
