Ibbi Hansen Trainer, 89, passed away peacefully of natural causes on December 20, 2024 with family by her side.

Born in Copenhagen, Denmark on December 5, 1935 she was the eldest child of Svend and Ragnhild Nielsen.

As a young girl she moved to America with her family.  Passing through Ellis Island on to Reserve, MT.  She attended school in Medicine Lake and eventually met her husband Darryl Hansen.  They welcomed their first son Danny and moved to Fort Benton, MT shortly after, where they welcomed three more children,  Lennie,  Tammie and Corry.

She worked for Bennett/Stensland IGA in Fort Benton for more than 30 years before divorcing and moving to Bigfork, MT.  In 1985 she married Robert Trainer and welcomed his 2 children into her family.  She worked at the Bigfork Drug for over 20 years, making new friends along the way.

She had a love for all flowers and spent endless hours in her flower gardens and yard.

She loved watching the hummingbirds and feeders all throughout her property.

She had a deep love for the Lord and prayed for many.  She loved her family and friends immensely and would often cook up some of her favorite Danish dishes for them, often being asked to provide her desserts for many occasions.

She was a great mother,  grandmother, sister and friend.  She had an infectious laugh, a beautiful smile and though quick witted, she had a light heart and a love for life's simple pleasures. She liked to travel and was able to visit Denmark on several occasions and spent her 80th birthday in Hawaii.

She will be missed by many including her loyal companion Rowdy Dog. Whom she would often refer to as "her little honey"  Her legacy will live on in the lives of her children,  grandchildren and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Ibbi is survived by her children Danny (Karla) Hansen, Tammie Evans, Corry (Gail) Hansen, her grandchildren Leslie (Clay) Hansen-Clewien,  Heidi Hansen, Lenise (Brian) Bennett, Mandie (TJ) Zumbusch, Crystal Chovanak, Sister Laila Rodler, Stepdaughter Coral Trainer and Family, the Family of Eric Trainer, 18 Great grandchildren,  and a host of relatives in Denmark.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Brother Lennart Nielsen  husband's Darryl Hansen and Robert Trainer, a Son Lennie Hansen, Grandson Justin Hansen, Nephew Kel Hansen, Stepson Eric Trainer, Step Great Grandson Branden Trainer.

A private family graveside service was held Friday December 27th at Riverside Cemetery in Fort Benton.  A memorial will take place this summer.
