Jacob Everett
Oriet
May 5, 2005 – September 26, 2023
Jacob Everett Oriet, born on the morning of May 5th, 2005, was always a beautiful sight to behold. With his big curly hair, contagious smile and laugh, beautiful blue eyes, generous spirit, and eventually his bigfoot sized, 6'9" body.
Jake didn't mince words and was always real and sincere. He would befriend anyone, but you had to earn his respect. He loved Jesus, his family and his community with all his heart and was always ready to help anyone who needed it.
Jake was the ultimate outdoorsman and could fix anything with wire, duct tape, and even an old pop can. He was always bringing home broken things and broken animals. Even the people he chose to be friends with and love were broken because he had a deep need to love on and mend them. It was truly a gift and he loved with his entire being.
From the time he was a baby, Jacob wanted to be like his brother. They were inseparable buddies. He loved to pile on top of Caleb every chance he had, followed him wherever he went, and was so deeply proud of his brother.
Jake was also a fisherman, with an intense love of water, a hunter, a horseman, and a duck whisperer. He had countless skills and hobbies. He was an artist, a photographer, a coffee roaster and mechanic. He enjoyed bringing home rocks, fossils, spiders, vehicles, and even a bucket of snakes for mom. His imagination was never dormant and he had a mind for science and mechanical things, always inventing and building. Jake took time to truly enjoy sunsets and nature. He adored coffee and hated wearing shoes.
From the time he was little he asked millions of questions, always needing to know why. By the time he was 15, he was studying quantum physics. He could bake bread and pies, sew leather, forge knives, rebuild engines, weld, and tame scared mares with ease.
The hole Jacob leaves is unfillable. He was loved by so many and made an impression on countless people. He is survived by his favorite and only brother Caleb, his father and mother, Mike and Kelly, grandparents, great grandfather, two aunts and uncles, 5 cousins, and many other extended family members. He is preceded in death by his cousin.
