Jo was born in Fort Benton to Jim & Frances Clark on June 20, 1942. She was raised on the family farm/ranch northeast of Geraldine and graduated from Geraldine High School in 1960. She was an avid 'horse lady' and taught herself how to rope before she even started school.
After graduation she lived and worked in Great Falls for a while before moving to Wheatland, Wyoming with Pat and family. It was there she met and married Larry Johnston. They later divorced but remained good friends. She moved back to the family farm/ranch and that was her home at the time of her death.
She was involved in High School rodeo's and many, many horse shows. Her life was horses!! She always had time to teach nieces and nephews to ride and lots of other kids as well. She was Aunt Jo to all. Jo and her partner of 20 plus years, Skip Henderson, attended all local brandings until his death in 2016.
Jo was preceded in death by her parents, baby brother John, brother J.W. and sister-in-law Donna Clark.
She is survived by her brother, Rich Clark of Geraldine, sister, Pat Wutschke (Scottie Peters) of Loma, and sisters-in-law Dorothy Clark of Fort Benton and Jerra Davis of Cheyenne, WY, as well as many, many relatives too numerous to mention Jo will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Rest in Peace Cowgirl!
