Obituary

Kenneth Frank Hampton "Hamp", 85 years old, originally from Fort Benton, Montana passed away on October 26 th , 2017 at Mount Baker Care Center in Bellingham, Washington. Kenny was born in Fort Benton, Mt., where he grew up and raised a family until 1976. He and his family moved to Helena, Mt. in 1976 and he lived there until 2015. In 2015, Kenny moved to Bellingham, Washington area to be near family where he resided until his death.

Kenny was born on June 7 th , 1932 in Fort Benton, Mt. to Mary (Woodcock) Hampton (mother), and Henry C. Hampton (Father). Kenny had no siblings but was extremely close to the Woodcock clan. His mother, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins formed a tight knit family for Kenny.

Kenny grew up in Fort Benton and attended FBHS (Class of '50) and went into the US Navy in 1951 where he served for 4 years. He came back home and married Jean Ann (Wright) Hampton in 1956, and then he became a tax appraiser for Chouteau County, MT. With Jean Ann, he raised 3 children and had a very nice life along the Missouri River.

Kenny was known for his jokes and humor and enjoyed fishing, collecting coins, singing and playing his guitar, and trying his luck at KENO. He retired from the state of Montana in 1994.

Kenny is survived by his children, Kenneth Russell Hampton (Hue), Mary Celeste Morrison (Peter), and Robert Clay Hampton (Kristine). His grandchildren are Katie Hampton, Kyle Hampton, Clay Hampton, Ashley Hampton, Megan Morrison, Elisa Morrison, Jenna Morrison, and Liam Morrison. Kenny's extended family included many close cousins from the Hampton, Woodcock, Willits, Walker, and Dawson families. His close friends were Lester and Sadie Lippert (Lester was like a brother growing up), Don Leaf, Kenny Morrow, Ted Kelly, Al Guy, Jim Bates, and Juanita Warren.

Funeral/Memorial services will be held at the Montana Agricultural Center in Fort Benton, MT on Saturday, Nov. 4 th , 2017 starting at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Services will follow directly, with an informal Reception at the Agricultural Center.
