Kenneth Bruce
Hicks
August 26, 1932 – August 14, 2020
Kenneth Bruce Hicks, 87, went to be with his Lord on Friday, August 14, 2020, at the Missouri River Medical Center. He was born August 26, 1932, in Fort Benton, the fourth child of Harold and Edna (Robison) Hicks. He was raised on the family homestead in the Montague area and educated in Geraldine, graduating from Geraldine High School in 1950. Ken loved his work as a farmer and rancher in the Montague and Square Butte areas. He always regretted not being able to serve his country due to poor eyesight. Still, he worked hard to make a good life for his family.
Ken met his wife of 50 years, Judy (Johnson) Hicks, on a blind date arranged by Walt and Karen Reid. They were married October 11, 1969, in Streator, IL.
Ken was a long-time elder at First Christian Church. He enjoyed music, poetry, hunting, fishing, cribbage, pinochle, Jeopardy, Paul Harvey, and visiting. Most important to him was his family.
Preceding Ken in death were his parents, Harold and Edna Hicks; brothers, Glen and Robert Hicks; and a sister, Norma Nommensen.
Ken leaves behind his wife, Judy Hicks; two sons, Kevin and Allen (Dusti) Hicks; five grandchildren, Keilidh (Carson), Kendra, Kerri, Kristen, and Andrew (Cheyenne); one great-granddaughter, Michaela; a brother Donald Hicks; a sister Kathleen (Charles) Webster; and numerous very special nieces, nephews, and cousins.
There will be a visitation for Ken on Friday, August 21 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Benton Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2020, in the Geraldine Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to First Christian Church in Fort Benton or to the Geraldine Fire and Ambulance Service. Benton Funeral Home has been entrusted with services and arrangements.
