Steinbacher
February 25, 1925 – April 10, 2017
Lenore F Steinbacher passed away peacefully on April 10, 2017, three years to the day she lost her husband of 68 years, Speed.
Lenore was born on February 25, 1925, the second of ten children born to John and Veronica Frieling. She attended elementary at Elim School. She lived in a boarding house for her high school years. After graduating she attended Summer School at the College of Great Falls and received her teaching permit. She taught at the Kenilworth School outside of Big Sandy. Lenore also taught at Shonkin before she married CJ (Speed) Steinbacher on December 30, 1946.
Lenore then worked as a bookkeeper for Fort Benton Motor Company and Haas & Associates Implement Co. until retiring. In her retirement, Lenore enjoyed bowling and went to several National Bowling tournaments with her sister Dorothy.
Lenore spent her last years at the Missouri River Medical Center under the excellent, loving care of the staff.
Lenore was preceded in death by her parents and husband; siblings John, George and Stanley "Bub", Delores Kelley, Margorie Seright, Dorothy Stovall, Phyllis Peterson. She is survived by her sister Shirley Yirsa of Big Sandy and her brother and sister-in-law Jim and Donna Frieling of Dutton and her brother-in-law Dave Stovall of Fort Benton. Lenore is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, many of whom she loved like they were her own.
