Margie Arleen
Stoner
June 13, 1934 – October 16, 2024
Our mom went to heaven today, no longer is she in pain but restful peace. Marge spent most of her life raising her six children, who were the most important thing in her world. Mom always seemed to fix whatever it was that went wrong in our lives from scraped knees to broken hearts.

She was born June 13, 1934, to Jack and Katherine Brese in Culbertson, Montana. She was greeted by three older siblings and helped welcome four younger ones into the family.
Margie married David W. Schaub Sr. in 1950, on a bet, she would later say. During the 21 years of marriage they shared many adventures, including having 6 children. Later divorcing and going their separate ways. Years later she married Gayle Stoner, together they shared many adventures from fishing, traveling, and visiting family and friends before his passing. She went to work when the youngest of us went to school. She worked as a cook, housekeeper and finally for Mountain Bell, which is now AT& T. She became a Union Boss for Mountain Bell, where she thrived at getting what was needed or sometimes just wanted. She decided she wouldn't take "no" for an answer. She worked for about twenty-five years for them before retiring. Margie loved to cook a variety of meals, from not very much. Growing up we always knew mom had been busy baking, the wonderful smell was there to greet us the moment we stepped off the bus. Another one of Margie's favorite things was tending to her vegetable garden and of course she always had beautiful flower beds.
One of her proudest moments was becoming a grandma. She wouldn't believe any of her seven grandsons or one granddaughter were anything but perfect. As her grandchildren grew, her heart grew even bigger when she became a great grandmother of 4 great grandsons and 9 great granddaughters, which of course were even more perfect. Finally, her heart became overjoyed when the great-great grandchildren started arriving. Margie was always excited when she was able to spend time with her 7 great-great grandsons and 5 great-great granddaughters. She would shake her head with her grin, give a little laugh and make sure the whole world knew they were Her's, her legacy, will forever be remembered.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Katherine Brese; husband, Gayle Stoner; son, Mark Stoner; and daughter, Connie Blackman; brothers, Gene, Jackson and Newell Brese; sisters, Jane Kaizer and Micky Johnson; son-in-law, Larry Martin; grandson, Reno Howen; and great-great grandson baby boy Morris.
Margie is survived by her children; Charlene Martin, Newell (Laurie) Schaub, David Schaub, and Carlotta (Larry) McGarvey. Six grandsons, one granddaughter, four great grandsons, nine great granddaughters, seven great-great grandsons and five great – great granddaughters.
We know you are looking down on us, guiding family and friends through life until we meet again. Rest in quiet peace.
