Marvin John Brodock, 76, passed away of natural causes on Saturday, April 4, 2026.
Marvin was born and raised in Pleasant Valley, where he attended country school through the eighth grade. He went on to attend high school in Fort Benton, graduating in 1967. Following graduation, Marvin attended Northern Montana College for three years before pursuing his passion for aviation attending pilot training school in Greeley, Colorado.
In September of 1970, Marvin entered the United States Army, where he proudly served his country for 20 years. As a decorated warrant officer (CW4), he flew Chinook helicopters and dedicated his career to service and excellence. Marvin was a Life Member of VFW Post 4047, served as Commander of the VFW Honor Guard, and was honored with the Governor Gianforte Veteran's Commendation Award in September 2025.
After retiring from the Army in 1991, Marvin returned home to Fort Benton. He continued his strong work ethic working at the elevator and later with the County Road Department until his retirement in 2020. Marvin was known for staying active and deeply supporting his community, especially the Fort Benton Longhorns. He was a longtime member of the Fort Benton Booster Club, earning Booster of the Year honors in both 2013 and 2020. For 13 years, he also drove the activity bus for Fort Benton High School, supporting countless students and athletes.
In his spare time, Marvin enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping; with Holter Lake holding a special place in his heart.
Marvin is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Susan; his sister, Tamee Havrilla (Marty); his brother, Pat Brodock, all of Fort Benton; Sister-in-law Barb Brodock and Wendy Brodock; Children Kevin Brodock of Scottsdale, Jason Adams (Jeannie) of Phoenix, and Melanie Keller (Tom) of Billings; and his cherished grandchildren, Kaenon, Michelle, Kingston, Karston, Dustin, Koltin and Kourtni, Kayda, Hailey, and Madison.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Dorothy Brodock; his brothers, Keith, Wes, and Vance; his grandson, Austin Keller: his uncle, Albert Anderson; and his grandparents, Elizabeth and Gilbert Swerdfeger, and Dorothy and Albert Anderson.
Marvin will be remembered for his dedication to his country, his unwavering support of his community, and his deep love for his family. His legacy of service, kindness, and commitment will live on in all who knew him.

Funeral service will be held at Benton Funeral Home on Friday, April 17th, at 12:00pm. Graveside service to follow.
