Rae Anne McCafferty, 62, passed away in Billings, MT on December 20, 2016. Rae Anne's graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at the Riverside Cemetery with Arthur McCafferty officiating. Rae Anne was born on July 27, 1954 in Great Falls, MT to Ray and Joanne (Davison) McCafferty. She attended school in Fort Benton, MT and graduated in 1972. She then went on to MSU-Bozeman, where she received her nursing degree. Rae Anne returned to Fort Benton and began her nursing career at the Fort Benton Hospital. She continued her career in Conrad, MT, Salem, OR, Riverstone Health Clinic in Billings, Saint Vincent's Hospital in Billings where she has worked in the maternity ward for 29 years, and most recently for Dr. Bailey as an office nurse in Billings.
Rae Anne loved to travel. She spent time in Europe, traveling with family and friends; she attended Broadway plays in New York; and loved to go shopping in Spokane, WA. Rae Anne also enjoyed doing many activities outdoors; especially cross-country skiing and hiking. Rae Anne had a quick wit and was great at telling jokes. She had a special bond with her nieces and nephews and spoiled them rotten.
Rae Anne was preceded in death by her father, Ray McCafferty.
She is survived by her mother, Joanne Peres Hershman (Louie) of Fort Benton; her sister, Christy (Lance) Ivanish of Miles City, MT; brothers, William "Bill" (Irene) McCafferty of Jackson, TN and Arthur "Art" (Connie) McCafferty of Lincoln, MT; her nieces and nephews, Crystal (Steve) Kveton, Angie (Caleb) Stephen, Shane Ivanish, and Josh, Greg and Shawna McCafferty; and her "Partners in Crime", Diane Kimm and Mary Beth Johnson.
