Robert "Bob" Edward Spevacek, 82, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2023, in Great Falls, Montana at Benefis Hospital. Viewing will be 5 p.m. with his Prayer Vigil beginning at 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 19, 2023, with his Funeral Mass 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2023, all at St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Geraldine, Montana with Father Mohan Reg Arikia officiating. Military honors will be held outside of the church immediately after the mass. A private family burial will be held. Bob was born March 12, 1941, in Great Falls, Montana at the Columbus Hospital to Edward and Grace (Bronec) Spevacek. He was raised on the family farm east of Geraldine, he attended Nelson Country School until the 6th grade, and graduated from Geraldine High School in 1959. He attended Northern Montana College in Havre and later joined the Air National Guard, serving from 1963 – 1969 when he was honorably discharged. He began farming with his father on the family farm and was a 3rd generation farmer. He met Berta Rea in 1971 and became a family of four with her two daughters, Carol and Nikki and later the couple had two daughters, Bobbi and Heidi, and later separated in 1979. He married Francine Anderson in July of 1997.
Bob was a devoted community member, a lifelong member of St. Margaret's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, drove the school bus, and worked for the city of Geraldine. He had a passion for flying his piper aircraft and served on the Fort Benton and Geraldine Airport Boards and was instrumental in the reconstruction of Geraldine Airport. He also served on the Geraldine Senior Citizens Board and the Geraldine Cemetery Board. His other interests included ham radio operator, shooting guns, taking road trips, and working on vehicles. He was a member of the Hawarden Rod and gun club. He was a wonderful father and loved his girls. He enjoyed visiting and joking with people, wherever he went he could strike up a conversation with anyone.
Preceded in death by his parents, and grandson, Ross Sessions in 2002.
Bob is survived by his wife Francine Spevacek; his four daughters; Bobbi Fritz, Heidi (David) Spevacek-Rand, Carol Bennett and Nikki Rea. His brother Bill (Karen) Spevacek; sisters; Dorothy "Dottie" (Fred) Walker, Delores "Dee" Spencer, Gloria (Don) Smith, Geraldine "Gerry" Spevacek and Rosemarie "Diane" (Noah) Martinez. Francine's Children; Scott (Cheri), Monty (Kari) and Robby (Melissa) Anderson and Karen (Darin) Kinsella. 9 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren.
