Therezinha Terri
Evers
October 8, 1934 – May 22, 2017
Therezinha "Terri" Evers, 82, passed away at her home on May 22, 2017. Cremation has taken place and at her request, no services will be held. Benton Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. Please visit Terri's online memorial page at www.bentonfh.com to leave a message of condolence for the family.
Terri was born October 8, 1934 to Emilio and Maria (Campitelli) Massimino in Getulina, Brazil. She was raised and attended school there. Terri attended college in Brazil and obtained her teaching certificate. On July 4, 1957 she came to Fairfield Bench to visit her first cousin. She went to work in Fort Benton, Montana where she met Jon. They courted for 6 months and were married March 22, 1959. They moved out to Evers Ranch, in Shonkin, where they raised their family. After receiving her college degree, Terri taught Spanish and Home Economics in Fort Benton and Geraldine for one year.
Terri was a fun-loving woman. She had a lot of energy that she put into everything she did. She was a hard worker and had a very contagious sense of humor. At any time, you could find Terri and Jon dancing around the kitchen. They loved to travel, near and far. They would often venture to Brazil to visit Terri's family and to Glacier Park and other National Parks throughout the United States. Their favorite trip was to Alaska. Terri and Jon had many enjoyable times near the ranch, camping, gardening, and entertaining guests. The couple hosted countless BBQ's in the mountains with their cherished neighbors, family, and friends. All were welcome and everyone enjoyed themselves. Terri and Jon especially liked to bird watch, as it became a fascination for them learning various types of birds together.
Terri was also a very talented artist and had a passion for photography. She did many landscape paintings and took numerous photos of the ranch and her home in Brazil. She had several other interests that included flower gardening, shopping, and antiques. In addition, she was an accomplished seamstress, designing her own patterns and clothes for her family. She had a special love for all animals, making "house pets" of a skunk, magpie, Canadian Geese, antelope, peacocks and guinea hens along with the more usual domestic pets; several cats and dogs.
Terri was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, Joseph and Nicola Massimino.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jon Evers; daughter, Emilia Evers (Dean) Rominger; son, Derek Evers; granddaughter, Erica Rominger (Robert T.) Ebeling; grandson, Steven Dean Evers Rominger; and sister, Eunice Massimino Perch.
