Wiley was born January 2, 1935 in Weeletka, Oklahoma, the youngest child of George and Clarice (Watt) Juedeman's 5 children. The Juedeman family moved to California in the early 30's, seeking employment like many other natives of Oklahoma. They returned to Oklahoma in the early 40's, then moved to Montana in 1945 after purchasing farmland in the Graceville country. Wiley graduated from Geraldine High School in 1951 and attended 1 year of college in Bozeman before returning to his life-long love of farming.
Wiley and Jo Alice Schieno were married in Elko, Nevada on October 20, 1962 and made their home on the Juedeman farm located just outside of Geraldine. They had 6 children: Caroline (Jody) Cox, Smith River; Selina (Todd) Burch, Miles City; Lance (Patricia) Juedeman, Graceville; Erin Juedeman, Billings; Damon (Tara) Juedeman, SeaTac, WA and Andrea Juedeman, Fort Benton. He was the proud "Grandpa Wiley" / "Papa Wiley" of 19 grandchildren; Ethan and Trent Cox; Levi & Ashley Burch, Shae and Kyle Burch; Blaine Juedeman & Darcey Johannsen; Elaina Juedeman & Owen Antonich, and Dawson Baroh; Lisa DalSoglio, Claire and Mabel Juedeman; Ashley Bronec, Serenity Juedeman, Eli Brugman, and Mica Juedeman; and 1 great-granddaughter, Hadley Burch.
Wiley served in the Montana Air National Guard in the early 60's. He was on the Geraldine School Board, serving as chairman for many years. In addition, Wiley was a member of the Board of Directors of Central Montana Rail. He was a dedicated and enthusiastic follower of all his kids academic and sport events; especially the year the Lady Tigers took the State Class C basketball championship in 1988.
Wiley was an excellent mechanic and welder and came up with a number of innovative inventions to improve his farming techniques. He also enjoyed hunting, spending several seasons in the Bob Marshall area with family and friends. He bowled in a men's league and mixed league, and was an entertaining story teller. Wiley was a man who was admired and respected by all who knew him and he was dearly loved by his entire family. He will be missed, but it eases our loss to know he is whole and at peace for all eternity.
Wiley was preceded in death by his parents, George and Clarice Juedeman; his sister, Georgene Byrd; his brother, Harold (Buck) Juedeman, and his grandson, Bryce Cox. Besides his immediate family, he is survived by his sisters, Clarene Dysart, of Missoula and Rhoene Manley, of Gresham Oregon and Craig, MT; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
